Workforce Development Program

In order to combat South Carolina’s staggering unemployment rate, Charleston Area Urban League "Workforce Development" (WFD) program is designed to help the unemployed and underemployed of Charleston obtain employment by increasing their marketable skills and promoting self-sufficiency.

The program modules are designed to help job seekers access employment, education, enhanced training and support services to succeed in the labor market and match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.

Through the WFD program, we instill long-term success in individuals by providing intensive case management, skills training and job placement for South Carolina Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients and all other groups identified in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
