OUR PROGRAMS

HOUSING and FAIR HOUSING SERVICES

The Housing Services Center provides first time homebuyer education, financial literacy, comprehensive fair housing counseling services and avocation in assisting families obtain and maintain safe, decent and affordable housing. It is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved counseling agency in southeastern South Carolina.

VITA TAX PREPARATION PROGRAM

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) provides free tax preparation and assistance to low to moderate income individuals in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other local agencies. By using other asset building tools, clients develop strategies to better manage their financial resources and move toward greater financial independence.

YOUTH SERVICES

The Youth Services program provides education and development activities to school-aged youth through school-based job and life skills training, civic engagement, summer employment, internships and college scholarships.

HEALTH EDUCATION AND AWARENESS INITIATIVE

In partnership with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and the Center for Community Health Partnership (CCHP), the Charleston Trident Urban League works to address health disparities that disproportionately affect African Americans and other disadvantaged populations.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

The Workforce Development Center responds to the needs of unemployed and underemployed, low to moderate income individuals to prepare for, find and maintain employment that pays a self-sufficient wage. Job seekers receive personalized counseling and training assistance that prepares them to be successful in today's work environment.
