The CTUL, in partnership with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and the Center for Community Health Partnership (CCHP) collaborate to address health disparities that disproportionately affect African Americans and disadvantaged populations. The Urban League has developed a diabetes awareness campaign and advertised on CARTA buses to bring more attention to the diabetes epidemic.

CTUL also provides resources and materials related to diabetes, heart health and stroke prevention at its web site www.ctul.org as well as prescription discount cards to the general public. This summer, the REACH US Program located at MUSCs School of Nursing, became a job site placement for two of CTUL's Youth Leadership Development participants. These two high school students will develop a health awareness message that will target teenagers utilizing technology and social media.
